OCHS13007 Industry Practicum
Can I get credit for the course industry practicum through my work experience in the field?
No, you cannot have work-related experience counted directly as the 120 hours of Industry Practicum requirements. Work Experience is seen as being different to the 120 hours of Industry Practicum for the following reasons:
- Work experience is not Industry Practicum
- Industry practicum MUST HAVE documented educational outcomes and progressive documentation (reports) of how these objectives can be achieved under the supervision of a professional mentor.
- Industry practicum can take place in the work situation but only after enrolment in the course and only after course outline expectations (educational outcomes) have been prepared by you and approved by the course co-ordinator.
- All progressive documentation must adhere to course outline and must be in accordance with the originally documented educational outcomes (plus any modifications to outcomes that occur - and are approved - after progress has begun.
