Can I get credit for any CQU OHS courses if I have a WHSO certificate?

No, the OHS programs offered at CQU are at a tertiary level on the Australian Qualifications Framework, and a short term WHSO course does not equate to the level of learning and content coverage that is covered by our twelve week courses.

The OHS courses at CQU are based upon not only the gaining of knowledge and skills in OHS but also the application of skills in the work environments, as well as the development of generic skills such as information searching, communication and teamwork skills as well as an emphasis on academic writing and critical thinking.

These elements are not covered to a large degree in the WHSO courses, but as added value our students can qualify for the Division of Workplace Health and Safety WHSO certificates if they meet the requirements. (Please see the question above for more information).
