How is the main integrated residential school structured and how long is it?
The main residential school is usually held in August/September and is a two week full time block learning period at the Rockhampton campus.
Students are required to attend the compulsory residential school components to comply with the requirements of a number of courses in the Grad Dip OHS and for OCHS 13010 Applied worksite analysis for the Bachelor of OHS program.
The residential school has an integrated approach in that a number of topic and discipline areas such as risk management, law and management, occupational health/hygiene and human factors to name a few are covered during the residential school.
The residential school has practical site visits both on and off campus to workplaces and industries such as mining, as well as practical laboratory sessions with monitoring equipment, guest speakers, student presentations and many other activities that relate to individual courses and assessment pieces required to successfully complete the courses concerned.
